How to plan your tiles

  1. 01Draw your roomStart from a preset shape, then move, add or remove corners until it matches your room. L-shapes and alcoves work too.
  2. 02Pick a tile and patternSet the tile size and grout joint, then choose a straight, brick, diagonal or herringbone layout.
  3. 03Get the countWhole tiles and cuts are counted separately, then the waste allowance goes on top. You get the total to buy.

Questions

Is the tile planner free?
Yes. There's nothing to install and no account to create. Draw as many rooms as you like.
How is this different from a tile calculator?
A calculator divides the floor area by the tile size. The planner lays every tile in your real room shape and pattern, so the count includes the actual cuts at walls and corners.
How much waste should I allow?
About 10% for straight and brick layouts and 15–20% for diagonal and herringbone. The planner shows the tiles you'll cut, so you can check the allowance against your room.
Which patterns can I plan?
Straight grid, brick (half-tile offset), diagonal at 45° for square tiles, and herringbone at four angles. Choose any tile size and a grout joint of up to 6 mm.
Can I put this planner on my tile shop's website?
