Terms of service
The terms for shops that put Tily on their website, and for anyone using our free planner, calculator and visualiser.
Last updated 8 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms are between you and Tily, called “Tily” or “we” below. Sections 2 to 8 apply to businesses with a Tily account (“shops”). Section 9 applies to everyone using our free tools on trytily.com. Sections 10 onwards apply to both.
If you have signed a separate agreement or order with us, it takes priority over these terms where they differ.
2. Accounts
Accounts are opened by invitation. You must be acting for a business and be able to bind it to these terms. Keep sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used them; you are responsible for what is done under your account.
Our staff may sign in to your account to help you set it up or fix a problem; every such session is recorded.
3. The service
Tily gives you a dashboard to manage your products and widget settings, and embed tokens that put the tile planner and the room visualiser on your website. We may improve and change features over time; we will not remove a feature you rely on without reasonable notice.
We aim to keep Tily available at all times but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors. Planned maintenance is done at quiet times where we can.
4. Trials and fees
A free trial, where offered, lasts for the period we agree with you. After it, fees are as set out in the proposal or order you accept. Unless we agree otherwise, fees are payable in advance, exclusive of VAT, and either side may stop at the end of a billing period with notice before it starts.
5. Your content and your customers
You keep all rights in the products, prices, images and other content you put into Tily, and give us permission to store, process and display it to run the service for you, including copying images to our CDN. You confirm you have the right to use that content.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your product data — tile sizes, coverage per box, prices and stock — because the planner calculates from it. You are also responsible for your own website’s privacy notice telling your customers you use Tily; our privacy policy describes what the widgets send.
6. Estimates, not measurements
Tile counts, box quantities, layouts and costs from the planner are estimates based on the measurements and product data entered. Room visualisations are illustrations of how a finish may look, not exact reproductions of colour, scale or fit.
They are not a substitute for measuring on site or for a fitter’s advice. You should tell your customers this in the same terms, and you remain responsible for the sale and any advice you give.
7. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Tily for anything unlawful, or to upload content you have no right to use;
- try to break, overload, probe or get around the service’s security or rate limits;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer Tily, or use your embed token on sites you were not set up for;
- use Tily to build a competing product.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other users at risk, and will tell you why.
8. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may close it with 30 days’ notice, or at once if you materially break these terms. When an account closes, the widgets on your site stop working and we delete your account data as described in our privacy policy. Ask us before closing if you want a copy of your product data.
9. Free tools
The free tile planner, tile calculator and room visualiser on trytily.com are provided as they are, for personal use, without charge. Their results are estimates and illustrations, as explained in section 6: check measurements and quantities with your supplier or fitter before you buy.
Upload only photos you are entitled to use. You must not use the free tools commercially, automate them, or use them in a way that disrupts them for others.
10. Our intellectual property
Tily, its software, design and the results it generates are ours or our licensors’. While these terms apply we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them as the service intends. Feedback you send us we may use to improve Tily, without obligation to you.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer using the free tools, you also keep your statutory rights.
Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or data, or for indirect or consequential loss, including the cost of over- or under-ordering materials. Our total liability to a shop in any 12 months is limited to the fees it paid us in that period; for the free tools, to £100.
12. General
We may update these terms; we will give shops 30 days’ notice by email of changes that affect them materially, and the date at the top always shows the current version. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except that a consumer may also bring proceedings where they live. Contact us at hello@trytily.com.
